Laurie Anderson's work encompasses sight and sound.

She is not just a musician and poet, more performance artist, perhaps the most well known in the world. Composer, writer, musician, artist, Laurie Anderson has created theatrical works that combine a variety of media: music, video, sculpture, projected imagery, whose work has been shown at the Guggenheim Museum, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, extensively in Europe and explores a vast range of subject matter. Anderson studied classical violin at an early age, moved into sculpture, worked as an art critic and even taught art history.

Anderson began producing performance pieces in the 1970's but her first album, 'O Superman' launched Anderson's career in 1980 which rose to number 2 on the British Pop charts and my introduction to this amazing performer making me a lifelong fan. 

Anderson combines music, sound and spoken word in her work and has also published several books including: ' Stories from the Nerve Bible: A Retrospective: 1972 - 1992' (1994), 'Laurie Anderson: Nightlife' (2007), a diary of her dreams,
