Here's looking at you kid - Casablanca (classic motion picture)

This past weekend marked 75 years since the premiere of Casablanca 

It starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman (her breakout role and brought her to the attention of the American audience). This was also the first VHS I ever bought. My mother, befuddled asked why I wanted to see a movie she saw for a dime at the theater.

Can you imagine how often you could go to the movies if it only cost 10 cents?

In case you're not familiar with this film, it's based on the unproduced stage play by Murray Burnett and Joan Allison, Everybody Comes to Rick's. A timeless story of love, loss and redemption, considered to be one of the greatest movies ever made, and groundbreaking in many ways.
The story of star crossed lovers whose union must be sacrificed for the sake of fighting the Nazis. The release was rushed to capitalize on the publicity of the Allied invasion of North Africa a few weeks earlier ultimately winning 3 academy awards: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. The lines, and theme song are integral parts of 20th century pop culture.
