About Me...

I've been into art as far back as I can remember.

I used to copy pictures from art books using all mediums, sketching, painting, charcoals, anything I could get my hands on. My mom would say it wasn't normal for a child to be happy spending so much time alone. But hey, I was creative (although I didn't know it at the time), and kept myself entertained for hours, still do.

My dad was a school teacher and there were always text books around. I taught myself how to type using one of those books (as well as many other things over the years). We were surrounded by poetry, music, movies and laughter. Sometimes my sister and I would find a play, split up the parts and act them out.

I can't recall when I discovered musical theater, but I loved it, if I got my hands on a recording (vinyl, reel-to-reel, etc. yes, I'm that old) I would act and sing all the parts. I still know all the lyrics to every song of The Wiz.

It should come as no surprise that I craved a place to express my continued love for art. So, I created this blog. Follow me on this journey of art recollections, discoveries, passions, and more.

That's me in the red dress, the night I won Miss Sweetheart at my kindergarten.

  2. Hey I remember in music .. at Zumwalt.. how it upset you when someone stole one of your albums.. I think it must have been an occasion where we were allowed to bring records to class.. Was it your Peter Frampton album that someone stole? - Who else was listening to Peter Frampton besides you? At Zumwalt?

    1. Wow, I don't remember that at all, but yes, would have been muy upset. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Frampton, I DO have a wide musical pallette after all..... ;-)
